Parking for the Silver Spring location is available in a metered garage located at 8700 Cameron Street. There is an entrance to the garage at the intersection of Spring and Cameron Street, as well as at the intersection of Cameron and Fenton Street. Both entrances are about 1 block from the Clinic. Those coming to the Silver Spring office will need to bring quarters to feed the meters.  Short-term parking (3 hours or less) is $0.75 per hour. Long-term parking (greater than 3 hours) is $0.50 per hour.

The Silver Spring, Maryland office of the Kolmac Clinic opened in 1973 as an outpatient alcohol treatment program.  The program  was co-founded by Dr. George Kolodner and Jim McMahon. It was the first intensive outpatient program (IOP) in the country. All other alcohol and drug rehabilitation at the time was being delivered on an inpatient, residential or partial-hospitalization basis.  To date the Clinic has treated over 12,000 patients.

This office provides ambulatory detoxification, intensive outpatient alcohol and drug treatment, continuing care and family services.  Clients at this office have the option of attending our Day or Evening program.  The Day IOP program runs weekdays, from 10:00am to 1:00pm and the Evening IOP program runs weekdays, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.  The continuing care and family schedules vary, so please check with us for the current schedule.

J. Gerald Fath, D.MIN, LCPC, MAC is the Clinical Director of the Silver Spring Program.  Jerry has been in the counseling field for over twenty years and has been providing alcohol and drug treatment at Kolmac since 1992.  Prior to Kolmac he served as clinical director for an inpatient program.  Jerry can be reached by phone at (301) 589-0255 or by email at jfath@kolmac.com.
