Decision to Detox in One Day
Our streamlined evaluation process allows most patients to start treatment within 24 hours of first contact. No waiting list: call, visit in person, or receive a referral to start your recovery journey. When you’re ready for change, we’re ready to help.
That Day Can Be Today.
We know some people who need help can’t put life on hold. That’s why we’ve created a system designed to get you the help you need as quickly as possible, with minimal inconvenience and almost no disruption to your daily routine.
Intake Evaluation
The first step is to schedule an intake evaluation with one of our skilled, friendly, and professional clinicians. Our initial intake evaluation can happen over the phone or online via Zoom, Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening intake appointments available upon request.
Initial Evaluation: What to Expect
How long does it take?
About 45 minutes to an hour.
What happens?
You meet with a clinician by phone or video chat and answer questions about the impact of addiction on your life. We explain all our programs, including detox, intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization, or outpatient (OP) program. Then you talk through the options and work with our clinician to determine which Kolmac program best fits your individual needs and goals.
Anything else?
We review the cost of treatment and confirm your insurance status. Patients are often surprised to learn insurance covers a large portion of treatment expenses at Kolmac.
Next Step: Connecting with Your Addiction Treatment Clinician
When you commit to recovery at Kolmac, we pair you with a compassionate and experienced addiction treatment clinician to guide you through the recovery process. Clinicians operate as case managers and ensure the various components of the addiction treatment puzzle line up in a smooth and efficient manner, maximizing likelihood of a positive treatment outcome.
Kolmac clinicians help you rebuild your life by providing constructive therapy, counseling, and support that may – if you approve and request – include the input of your friends, family, and other healthcare providers.
After Detox: Treatment
If evaluation indicates the need for detox, that comes first.
Once you complete the detoxification phase of the Kolmac method, you begin your treatment program in intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, partial hospitalization treatment (PHP), or outpatient treatment (OP). You meet consistently with your addiction treatment clinician to check on your progress and ensure your treatment plan is effective, productive, and keeping you on track to meet your recovery goals.
Group Therapy + Individual Support: Comprehensive Treatment
During your program, you participate in group therapy at our one of our conveniently located outpatient treatment centers and consult regularly, one-on-one, with your addiction treatment clinician.
Evidence shows comprehensive treatment – including group therapy and individual counseling – is the most effective path to successful, long-term recovery.
The Treatment Alliance: Trustworthy, Compassionate, Expert Clinicians
Kolmac clinicians apply a strengths-based approach to treatment, which means we focus on areas where you excel, not just the areas where you need improvement. Decades of research shows a positive therapeutic relationship – i.e. a productive treatment alliance – requires the following:
- Trust
- Safety
- Acceptance
- Confidentiality
When you believe in the process and trust your treatment team, real progress happens.
Setting And Meeting Goals
Our clinicians help you set and meet individual goals for recovery. We help you identify what you want to out of treatment and collaborate with you to ensure you treatment plan guides you from where you are toward the life you want to live.
Personal Connection Means Personalized Treatment
It takes an experienced, skilled, and knowledgeable mental health professional to help you on your addiction recovery journey. At Kolmac, we combine expertise in the science of addiction with knowledge of your skills, interests, goals, and current life circumstances to help make recovery a reality.
We learn who you are so we can help you become who you want to be.
Case Managers and Coordinators Have You Covered
Since our clinicians are also case managers and treatment coordinators, you form a deep bond that goes beyond a traditional counseling relationship. Your addiction treatment clinician coordinates with healthcare providers, referral sources, employee assistance programs, insurance providers, family members, and attorneys (of needed) to establish a robust support network that supports lifelong recovery.
We create an environment and a process within which everyone works together to support your primary goal: a successful recovery and a life without alcohol or drug use.
Confidentiality: Your Privacy is Paramount
Patient confidentiality in addiction treatment is a significant component of any effective program. At Kolmac, your privacy matters. We’ve worked with a variety of patients – from everyday people to public figures and celebrities – for over 30 years, and earned a reputation as experts in private, effective, confidential addiction treatment.
When someone has an addiction, they have the right to share their story with whomever they choose. That’s not just sense: it’s the law.
Confidentiality is a cornerstone value at Kolmac:
First, we hold ourselves to a high legal standard.
Every employee at Kolmac completes annual training on HIPAA compliance, i.e. patient privacy laws. Our clinicians know that system-wide confidentiality is one of the most important factors in addiction treatment.
Privacy concerns can be a significant barrier to treatment.
Your recovery is your own business, and Kolmac’s job is to fiercely defend you right to privacy and allow you to share your story with whom you choose.
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of success.
Kolmac patients know they can share openly without worrying their private information will follow them back into their work or personal lives. We take confidentiality in addiction treatment seriously. Our patients can be confident that anything and everything about their treatment stays one hundred percent private and confidential.
